Via Dolorosa

Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem
that day
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street.
But the crowd pressed in to see
The man condemned to die on Calvary.

He was bleeding from a beating,
There were stripes upon His back.
And He wore a crown of thorns upon His head

And He bore with every step
The scorn of those who cried out for

His death.

Down the Via Dolorosa
called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ

the King.

But He chose to walk that road
out of His love for you and me
Down the Via Dolorosa,
all the way to Calvary.

병정들이 좁은 길을 뚫고 나가네

갈보리에서 사형집행당할 사내를
군중들이 막무가내로 보자하네


사내는 매맞아 피흐르고
등에는 채찍자국
이마에는 가시면류관이요

발자욱 뗄때마다
그의 죽음을 외치는 조롱을 받네


비아 돌로로자
그 뜻 그대로 고난의 길이로세
순한 양으로 오신 메씨아 이며 왕이신 그리스도

너와 나를 사랑하사 그길을 가셧네
그 비아 돌로로자의 길을
갈보리 까지
